Cheapest Flower Delivery: How to Pay Less for Getting Flowers to the Door in Russia
The cheapest flower delivery is the one with a clear, fixed fee and no surprises at checkout: with Pyat Tsvetov, delivery within a city costs 500 RUB, and for remote districts and suburbs the operator confirms the price when confirming the order, before you pay for anything extra. The rest of the saving comes from choosing the right time slot, giving a complete address and picking a bouquet that suits the budget rather than paying for size you do not need.
We have run flower shops in Saint Petersburg since 2011, and the question about the cheapest way to send flowers comes up at the counter and on the phone every week, very often from people calling from abroad for a mother or a friend in Russia. Here is what we tell them, in the order it usually matters.
What the delivery fee actually covers
Customers often compare the price of a bouquet on one site with the price on another and forget the delivery line. With us, delivery within a city is 500 RUB, and that includes the courier bringing the bouquet to the door, calling the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival and handing over a free card with your text. There is no separate charge for the card and no charge for keeping the sender anonymous, which is the default: the courier does not name who sent the flowers.
For addresses outside the city limits, in suburbs or remote districts, the price depends on the distance, so the operator confirms it when confirming the order. You see the final amount before the bouquet leaves the shop, which is the main thing that keeps a cheap order from turning into an expensive one. If you are unsure whether an address counts as the city or a suburb, call us on 8 (812) 507-67-05 and we will tell you before you order.
The delivery and payment page lists all the options in one place. Read it once before ordering, especially if you are sending flowers from abroad and do not know how Russian addresses are split into districts.
Choosing a delivery slot that costs nothing extra
In large cities we can deliver as an express order within 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed, at an exact time accurate to plus or minus 30 minutes, or within a time window: 09-12, 12-15, 15-18 or 18-21. For most occasions a time window is the most relaxed choice, because it gives the courier room to plan the route and still gets the bouquet there on the right day. A morning window works well for birthdays, since the recipient gets the flowers before the day gets busy.
Ordering in advance is the simplest way to avoid last-minute stress. Pre-orders are accepted 1-30 days ahead, so if you know a date such as a birthday, an anniversary or March 8, place the order when you think of it. On peak days, especially March 8, February 14 and the last days of December, the best bouquets in each price range go first, and early orders keep the choice wide.
In Saint Petersburg we deliver around the clock, which matters if you are in a different time zone and want flowers to arrive at a precise moment, for example at midnight on a birthday. In other cities, plan for daytime slots.
Bouquets we can deliver
Avoiding the hidden cost of a failed delivery
The most expensive delivery is the one that has to happen twice. Most failed deliveries come from incomplete addresses: a missing flat number, no entrance or floor, a door code nobody mentioned, or a phone number without the country code. Russian apartment blocks have many entrances, and the courier needs all of these details to reach the door quickly.
The courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival. If the recipient is not there, we agree a second delivery on the same day or hand the bouquet to a neighbour or a concierge, but only with the sender's consent. Write a second contact in the order comment if the recipient often switches the phone off at work.
If the bouquet is a surprise, tell us in the comment and give us a time when the recipient is certainly at home. A surprise delivered at 10 a.m. to someone who leaves for work at 8 is a surprise that comes back to the shop.
Getting more bouquet for the same budget
When a customer in the shop says 'something nice, but not expensive', we steer them towards flowers that give volume and a long vase life rather than towards a few long-stemmed roses. Spray chrysanthemums, alstroemeria, carnations and spray roses have several heads on one stem, so a modest bouquet looks generous. A mono-bouquet of one variety in one colour also reads as more expensive than a mix of many small things.
Season matters as well. Tulips are at their best value from late winter into spring, while summer brings garden-style flowers and greenery that make a bouquet look full. Ask for a bouquet built around what is in good supply on the day, and leave the florist a little freedom in colour; that is where the best value usually comes from.
In the bouquets catalogue you can sort by price and see the real composition of each bouquet. Check the size information rather than judging by the photo alone, because close-up photos make every bouquet look larger.
Paying from abroad without extra fees and delays
Online payment on our site is by bank card, SBP or Yandex Pay, and foreign bank cards are accepted through Robokassa. This matters for people abroad, because a payment that fails three times usually ends with the order placed late or not at all. Use the card you normally shop online with and keep your phone nearby for the bank confirmation.
If someone in Russia is helping you, SBP is the quickest option: the payment goes through in a few seconds from a Russian bank app. Either way, the order is processed once the payment is confirmed, so paying in good time is part of getting the delivery slot you chose.
Keep the order confirmation. If anything needs changing, such as the time, the address or the text on the card, call 8 (812) 507-67-05 and quote the order, and we will adjust it before the courier leaves.
Delivery to smaller towns across Russia
We deliver across Russia, not only in Saint Petersburg, and the rules on time windows, anonymity and the courier's call apply everywhere. The difference in smaller towns is distance: a village or a settlement outside the town counts as a remote address, and the operator confirms the delivery price when confirming the order. Give the full address including the district, because many Russian towns have streets with the same names as in neighbouring villages.
If you are sending flowers to a regional city, read our notes on the specific place first. For example, flower delivery in Vladikavkaz explains how zones and timing work there, and the same logic applies to most towns of a similar size.
For smaller towns, a time window is usually a better choice than an exact time, because the courier may cover a wide area in one route. Add a landmark or a short note on how to find the house if the street is new or poorly signposted, and include a second phone number for the recipient. These small details cost nothing and save the most time on the day.
