24 Hour Flower Delivery: Night Orders in Saint Petersburg, Fast Delivery Elsewhere

In Saint Petersburg our flower delivery runs around the clock, so a bouquet can be ordered and delivered at any hour, including late at night and early in the morning. In other large Russian cities we deliver by express 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed, at an exact time (plus or minus 30 minutes), in a daytime window, or on a date you book up to 30 days ahead.

Pyat Tsvetov has been making bouquets in Saint Petersburg since 2011, and we have three of our own shops in the city: on Ilyushina Street, on the Obvodny Canal Embankment and on Srednerogatskaya Street. The questions below are the ones customers ask us most often when they phone at an unusual hour or order from another time zone, and the answers are the practical ones we give at the counter.

Ordering at night in Saint Petersburg

The most common night-time request is a bouquet for midnight on a birthday or an anniversary, and the second is an apology after a quarrel. Both are possible in Saint Petersburg, because delivery in the city does not stop in the evening. When you order late, give us the recipient's phone number and the full address with entrance, floor, apartment and intercom code. At night these details matter twice as much, since there is no concierge to ask and neighbours will not open the door to a stranger.

The courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival. For a midnight surprise, think about whether that call will wake anyone else in the flat, such as children or elderly parents, and warn someone in the household if you can. If the recipient does not answer or is not home, we agree a second delivery the same day, or hand the bouquet to a neighbour or concierge with your consent.

For night orders we usually recommend sturdy flowers: roses, chrysanthemums, eustoma, alstroemeria. They will stand happily in a vase overnight, even if the recipient only trims the stems properly the next morning.

Other Russian cities: express, exact time or pre-order

Outside Saint Petersburg, the fastest option in large cities is express delivery, which takes 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed. If you prefer a fixed moment, choose an exact time with a 30-minute margin, or one of the windows: 09-12, 12-15, 15-18 or 18-21. For smaller towns, suburbs and remote districts, the operator confirms the delivery price when confirming the order, and it is worth leaving extra time.

Customers often ask whether ordering the evening before is enough for a morning delivery. It is, provided the address and phone number are complete. Choose the 09-12 window or an exact time such as 9:30, and the bouquet arrives before the recipient's day fills up. Our article on what the 1-2 hour window actually covers explains how the clock is counted.

For hospital wards, hotels and offices, check the rules in advance. Many hospitals do not accept flowers on wards at all, hotels may only accept a bouquet at reception, and business centres close their doors in the evening. In those cases a daytime window with the recipient's mobile number on the order is more reliable than an exact late hour.

City delivery costs 500 RUB. That is the only fixed delivery price; everything outside city limits is confirmed individually before you pay.

Time zones: the mistake people make from abroad

Russia spans eleven time zones, and our customers abroad add a few more. The usual error is choosing a delivery time in your own local time. Always state the time in the recipient's city: Saint Petersburg and Moscow share one zone, but Yekaterinburg is two hours ahead of them, Novosibirsk four, Vladivostok seven.

A simple method that works: open the world clock on your phone, add the recipient's city, and pick the time from there. If you want the flowers to arrive exactly when the recipient wakes up or comes home from work, the guide on scheduling delivery by the hour from abroad goes through examples for different countries.

When the date itself matters, such as a birthday that starts at midnight local time, place the order a day or more in advance. Pre-orders can be made 1-30 days ahead, which removes the risk of a late-evening rush in your own time zone.

Paying from another country

Payment is made online on the site by bank card, SBP or Yandex Pay. Foreign bank cards are accepted, with payment processed through Robokassa, so you do not need a Russian card or a relative in Russia to pay for you. This is the question we hear most from customers in Europe, Israel and the United States, and the answer is the same for a daytime order and a night one.

Pay before you choose a very tight time. An order is counted from the moment it is confirmed, so if you plan an express delivery or a specific hour tonight, complete the payment first and then check the details. A two-minute delay at checkout is rarely a problem in the daytime, but it can matter for a midnight delivery booked at a quarter to eleven.

Keep the confirmation of payment until the bouquet has been delivered. If anything about the order needs clarifying, such as the address, the time or the wording of the card, call us on 8 (812) 507-67-05 and quote the order details.

The card, the bouquet and what to say

Delivery is anonymous by default: the courier does not name the sender. If you want the recipient to know the flowers are from you, write your name on the card, which is free. A late-night delivery without a name can be confusing, so for midnight surprises we suggest signing the card even if you would normally leave it unsigned.

Keep the card text short and personal. Three lines read well on a small card: a greeting, one sentence that only you could write, and your name. For an apology, a plain "I'm sorry, I love you" works better than a long letter.

For choosing the bouquet itself, browse the catalogue by occasion. For evening and night deliveries, warm colours such as red, peach and coral look better under indoor lamps than pale pastels, which can look grey in artificial light.

Care after a late delivery

A bouquet delivered at night often spends its first hours on a table in its wrapping because the recipient is too surprised or too sleepy to deal with it. That is fine for a few hours, but the sooner the stems go into water, the longer the flowers last. Remove the wrapping, cut each stem by 2-3 centimetres at an angle, strip any leaves that would sit below the waterline, and put the bouquet in a clean vase with cool water.

Place the vase away from radiators, which in Saint Petersburg run hot from October to April, and away from a bowl of fruit, since ripening fruit shortens the life of cut flowers. Change the water every two days and trim the stems again. Roses and chrysanthemums cared for this way usually stay fresh for a week or longer. We deliver bouquets across Russia in 1–2 hours.
