Proof of Flower Delivery: How Senders Abroad Can Be Sure
Proof of flower delivery means confirmation that the bouquet reached the right person at the agreed address and time. With us that confirmation rests on a clear handover procedure: the courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arriving, hands the flowers over in person, and never leaves them with anyone else without your consent; if you want to check the status of an order, you can call us on 8 (812) 507-67-05.
Customers who order from Germany, Israel or the United States ask about proof more than anyone else, and for a good reason: they cannot see the doorstep and they are often several time zones away. Since we opened our first shop in Saint Petersburg in 2011, we have learnt that the most reliable confirmation is not a document but a well-prepared order. This article explains what to provide, how the handover works, and how to stay informed without spoiling a surprise.
What customers usually mean by proof
When people ask us for proof, they usually want answers to three separate questions. Was the bouquet made the way they chose it on the site. Did it reach the person, not just the building. And did it arrive on time for the occasion, for example a birthday morning or the evening before a flight. Each of these is confirmed in a different way, and it helps to decide which one matters most to you before you order.
For a birthday or anniversary, timing is usually the main concern, so an exact delivery time is the better choice. For flowers to an elderly relative who rarely answers the phone, the main concern is that the bouquet is handed to her personally, so the recipient's phone number and a backup contact matter more. For corporate deliveries, the name of the person who accepted the flowers is often what the sender needs for their records.
The strongest confirmation in practice is the recipient's own reaction. A call or a message with a photo of the bouquet in a vase answers all three questions at once. That is why we always recommend signing the card if the surprise does not need to be anonymous: the recipient knows whom to thank, and you hear about the delivery within minutes.
How the handover works
The courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival. This call confirms that the person is at the address and gives them time to open the intercom, come down to the entrance or meet the courier at the office reception. In Saint Petersburg, with its courtyards, archways and old buildings with several entrances, this call saves a lot of searching.
If the recipient is not there, the bouquet is not left at the door. We agree a second delivery the same day, or handing the flowers to a neighbour or concierge, but only with the sender's consent. So any handover to a third person is something you have approved in advance, not something you discover afterwards.
Delivery is anonymous by default: the courier does not name the sender. The recipient learns who sent the flowers only from the card, if you sign it. Anonymity and confirmation do not conflict; the recipient is told what you decide, while you can always find out the status of the order from us.

Details that make confirmation easy
Most delays come from incomplete addresses, not from the route. Give the recipient's full name and a mobile number that is switched on, the street, building, entrance, floor and flat number, and the intercom code if there is one. For an office, add the company name, the floor and whether visitors pass a security desk. For a hospital or a hotel, ask the recipient in advance where deliveries are accepted.
Leave your own phone number in the order and keep it reachable at the delivery time. If the courier cannot reach the recipient, the question about a second attempt or a neighbour will come to you, and a quick answer keeps the delivery on the same day.
Choose timing that suits proof. In large cities you can choose express delivery 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed, an exact time (+/-30 minutes), a window of 09-12, 12-15, 15-18 or 18-21, or a pre-order 1-30 days ahead. An exact time tells you precisely when to expect news. In Saint Petersburg delivery is around the clock, so an early-morning or late-evening surprise is possible here, but check the time difference so you are awake when it happens.
Checking the status from abroad
If the delivery time has passed and you have heard nothing, call us on 8 (812) 507-67-05 with your order details. Before calling, check your phone for missed calls and messages: often a question about the address or the recipient's availability is already waiting for you. Most cases turn out to be simple, such as a recipient who went out for an hour or an intercom that does not work.
Before you ask the recipient directly, remember that the courier rang them shortly before arriving. A neutral question, such as whether they were at home in the afternoon, usually tells you everything without giving the surprise away.
Paying and ordering when you live outside Russia
We deliver flowers across Russia. City delivery costs 500 RUB; for remote districts and suburbs the operator confirms the price when confirming the order. You pay online on the site by bank card, SBP or Yandex Pay, and foreign bank cards are accepted through Robokassa. Full terms are on the Delivery and payment page.
A card with your text is free, and it is worth writing a few personal lines. Apart from being the nicest part of the gift, a signed card is what prompts the recipient to get in touch, which is the most natural confirmation you can have.
Making sure the flowers last after delivery
Proof of delivery is only half of a good result; the other half is a bouquet that looks fresh for a week or more. Ask the recipient to unwrap the flowers soon after the handover, trim the stems by one or two centimetres at an angle, remove leaves that would sit below the waterline and use a clean vase with cool water. Changing the water every one or two days and trimming again adds several days of life.
In autumn and winter, Russian flats are heated and often dry, so keep the vase away from radiators, direct sun and fruit bowls, as ripening fruit speeds up wilting. If you are choosing for someone who will not fuss over flowers, pick long-lasting varieties such as chrysanthemums, alstroemeria or carnations from our Bouquets catalogue.
