Sending Flowers With Tracking: How to Know Your Bouquet Arrived
Flower tracking works differently from parcel tracking: a bouquet is made and delivered on the same day, often within hours, so instead of a chain of scan points you follow three moments, the order confirmation, the courier's call to the recipient shortly before arrival, and the confirmation that the flowers were handed over. When you send flowers to Russia with us, the courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arriving, and for any question about the status of your order you can call us at 8 (812) 507-67-05.
Customers in our Saint Petersburg shops, especially those ordering from abroad, ask us about tracking more than about any other part of delivery. Most of them simply want to know that nothing has gone wrong while they are in a different time zone. Below we explain what can realistically be followed, what to prepare so the order runs smoothly, and what to do if the recipient is not at home.
Why flower delivery has no parcel-style tracking number
A parcel travels for days through depots, and each depot scans it, which is what a tracking number shows. A bouquet has no depots: it is assembled, handed to a courier and driven straight to the recipient, often on the same day as the order. In large Russian cities express delivery takes 1-2 hours after the order is confirmed, so by the time a tracking page loaded with several statuses, the flowers would already be in a vase.
That is why serious florists focus on confirmation points rather than a moving dot on a map. The useful questions are whether the order was accepted, whether the payment went through, at what time the courier will arrive and whether the recipient actually received the flowers. Each of these can be checked, and each matters more than seeing the car's position on the street.
Live courier maps also create false alarms for senders abroad. A courier who stops for another address or waits at a barrier looks 'lost' on the map, while in reality the delivery is on schedule. A clear time slot and a call to the recipient give a calmer and more reliable picture.
Before delivery: what to check after you place the order
The first checkpoint is payment. On our site you can pay online by bank card, SBP or Yandex Pay, and foreign bank cards are accepted via Robokassa, so customers in Europe, Israel, the USA and elsewhere can pay with their usual card. Keep the payment confirmation from your bank; it is the quickest reference if you need to ask about the order later.
The second checkpoint is the delivery time. Instead of 'sometime today', choose an exact time (plus or minus 30 minutes) or a time window: 09-12, 12-15, 15-18 or 18-21. You can also pre-order 1-30 days ahead, which we recommend for busy dates such as New Year's Eve, 8 March or Orthodox Christmas; our article New Year's Eve vs Orthodox Christmas: When to Send Flowers explains the difference between those dates.
The third checkpoint is the data you entered. Most delivery problems we see are not caused by the road but by a missing flat number, an entrance code, or an old phone number of the recipient. Check the full address, including the building, entrance and floor, and give a mobile number the recipient really answers. Remember the time zone too: Moscow and Saint Petersburg are on Moscow time, while Krasnoyarsk, for example, is four hours ahead of it.
Bouquets we can deliver
On the day: the courier's call and what happens if nobody is home
About 15 minutes before arrival, the courier calls the recipient. This call is the most practical form of tracking: it confirms that the flowers are on their way, lets the recipient open the door or come down, and prevents the bouquet from standing outside, which is especially important in winter. If you want the delivery to be a surprise, keep in mind that the recipient will hear from the courier shortly before the doorbell rings, not earlier.
If the recipient is not there, the flowers do not simply disappear. We agree a second delivery on the same day or, with the sender's consent, hand the flowers to a neighbour or a concierge. For this reason it helps to tell us in the order comment whether a neighbour or the building's concierge is acceptable, so the decision can be made quickly.
Delivery is anonymous by default: the courier does not name the sender. If you want the recipient to know who sent the flowers, write it on the card, which is free and can carry any text you choose.
After delivery: how to know the bouquet arrived
For senders abroad, the most important moment is the confirmation that the flowers were handed over. What kind of confirmation we send after delivery, and how to read it, is described in detail in Delivery Confirmation Photo: What Proof We Send After Delivery. If you have not received the confirmation you expected, or simply want to check the status, call us at 8 (812) 507-67-05 with your order details.
A short message from the recipient is also a form of tracking, and often the nicest one. Many of our regular customers write a card with a line such as 'Send me a photo when they arrive', which gives the recipient a natural reason to reply. It also helps if you are sending a surprise and do not want to call in advance.
If something about the bouquet seems wrong on arrival, ask the recipient to take a photo straight away and contact us the same day. Clear photos and a prompt call allow the situation to be resolved while the flowers are still fresh.
Sending flowers across Russia and in Saint Petersburg
We deliver flowers across Russia. City delivery costs 500 RUB; for remote districts and suburbs the operator confirms the price when confirming the order. Pyat Tsvetov has worked since 2011 and has three own shops in Saint Petersburg, on Ilyushina Street, Obvodny Canal Embankment and Srednerogatskaya Street, and in Saint Petersburg delivery runs around the clock, which makes late-evening and early-morning surprises possible.
To place an order, choose a bouquet in the bouquets catalogue, pick the time slot that suits the recipient and pay online. The full conditions are on the delivery and payment page. For anything that the order form does not cover, such as an unusual address, a hospital or office delivery, call 8 (812) 507-67-05.
Frequently asked questions
