What a Two-Hour Window Means for Flower Delivery

A two-hour window means a period lasting two hours during which an arrival or event is expected: a delivery window of 2–4 pm allows arrival at any point between those times. It does not mean the courier will arrive exactly two hours after you order, and it does not reserve the whole period for the handover. The starting point and the wording of the delivery option determine how to interpret it.
At Pyat Tsvetov (5 Flowers), customers often need to distinguish a delivery interval from a promise of speed. We have operated flower shops in Saint Petersburg since 2011, and timing is an important part of arranging a gift. For someone ordering from abroad, the useful details are the recipient’s availability, the date and time at the destination, and the delivery option confirmed for the order.
A delivery window is an interval, not an appointment
If a delivery is arranged for a two-hour window from 2 pm to 4 pm, the recipient should plan to be available throughout that interval. Arrival at 2:10 pm and arrival at 3:50 pm both fall within it. The word “window” describes the permitted range rather than a particular minute. When making plans around a delivery, use the end of the interval as your reference instead of assuming the courier will come near its beginning.
A window also differs from the time spent at the address. A two-hour interval does not mean the courier waits for two hours while the recipient returns from an errand. If someone is available only briefly, explain that constraint before the order is confirmed. A short availability period needs a delivery arrangement that fits it; choosing a broad interval and adding a preferred minute can leave the essential timing unresolved.
“Within two hours” starts from a different point
“Within two hours” describes elapsed time from a stated starting point, while “between 2 and 4 pm” names a period on the clock. With our express service in large cities, the stated timing is 1–2 hours after the order is confirmed. The confirmation matters: submitting an order and having it confirmed are different steps. For a practical explanation of that distinction, see what our 1–2 hour flower delivery timing covers.
For example, if an express order is confirmed at 1 pm, its stated 1–2 hour timing runs from that confirmation. It should not be counted from an earlier moment when you first opened the catalogue or began checkout. If the flowers need to arrive for a particular occasion, give the required date and time when arranging the order. This lets the timing be considered against the actual occasion instead of relying on the general meaning of “express”.
Bouquets we can deliver
Choose from the delivery times we actually offer
Our scheduled delivery windows are 09–12, 12–15, 15–18 and 18–21: these are three-hour intervals. A search for “two hour window meaning” can explain the terminology, but it should not be taken to mean that we offer a separate two-hour scheduled slot. We also offer delivery at an exact time with a tolerance of plus or minus 30 minutes. Choose according to the recipient’s availability and the timing confirmed for your order.
The exact-time option still allows some variation around the requested time. For a requested time of 3 pm, plus or minus 30 minutes means 2:30–3:30 pm; it does not mean arrival precisely at 3 pm. Orders can also be placed 1–30 days ahead, which is useful when planning a birthday or another known date. Delivery in Saint Petersburg is available around the clock; that availability should not be assumed for every city in Russia.
Plan around the person receiving the flowers
Start with the part of the recipient’s day you can reasonably establish. For a home delivery, an interval when someone expects to be at home is more useful than a preferred minute during a busy afternoon. For a workplace, consider when the recipient will actually be present and able to receive a personal delivery. If the bouquet is for a meal or gathering, leave time for the flowers to be received and placed in water before the event begins.
Our courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival. That call helps coordinate the handover, so provide a recipient number that can be answered on the delivery day. Delivery is anonymous by default: the courier does not name the sender. If you want the recipient to know who sent the flowers, include your name in the free card text; anonymity at the door and identification in a personal message can work together.
Order from abroad with the destination time in mind
When sending flowers to Russia from another country, write down the intended delivery date and time as they apply in the recipient’s city. A date that is still tomorrow for you may already be today at the destination. Use the city name alongside any timing request, especially if you are discussing a deadline by phone. Then choose the bouquet from our bouquets catalogue and make sure the delivery arrangement matches the recipient’s day.
We deliver flowers across Russia, and city delivery costs 500 RUB. For remote districts and suburbs, the operator confirms the delivery price when confirming the order. Online checkout uses CloudPayments; check the payment options displayed there rather than assuming that every foreign-issued card will be accepted. You can review delivery and payment information, and questions about an order can be discussed by phone on 8 (812) 507-67-05.
Prepare for a missed handover and care after arrival
If the recipient is not there, we agree a second delivery the same day or handing the flowers to a neighbour or concierge with the sender’s consent. Do not assume that leaving the bouquet with another person is automatic. If an alternative handover could be useful, consider in advance whom you would be comfortable authorising. A surprise works best when the recipient can still be reached and the practical arrangements allow the flowers to be received.
Once the flowers arrive, the useful next step is to get them into a clean vase with fresh water. Remove any leaves that would sit below the waterline, and trim the stem ends with a clean, sharp tool before arranging them. Keep the bouquet away from radiators and direct sunlight, and check the water regularly. If the recipient has plans immediately after delivery, choosing a time when they can attend to the bouquet makes the gift easier to enjoy.
Frequently asked questions
Does a two-hour window mean delivery takes two hours?
No. It means arrival is expected during a specified two-hour interval; a statement such as “within two hours” instead describes elapsed time from a defined starting point.
Does Pyat Tsvetov offer two-hour scheduled windows?
Our scheduled windows are 09–12, 12–15, 15–18 and 18–21, each lasting three hours. Express delivery in large cities is 1–2 hours after order confirmation, which is a different timing option.
How precise is exact-time flower delivery?
Our exact-time option has a tolerance of plus or minus 30 minutes. A requested time of 6 pm therefore corresponds to an arrival range of 5:30–6:30 pm.
Will the recipient be contacted before delivery?
The courier calls the recipient about 15 minutes before arrival. The courier does not name the sender, so include your name in the free card message if you want to identify yourself.
Can I pay for flowers from outside Russia?
Online checkout uses CloudPayments, and you should check the options displayed at checkout. Acceptance of every foreign-issued card is not guaranteed.
