Ordering Flowers Online for Delivery in Oshawa
You can order flowers online for delivery in Oshawa, Ontario, directly on our site: Oshawa is on our list of delivery cities in Canada. Open the Oshawa delivery page, choose a bouquet, enter the recipient's address and the card text, and pay online in rubles; the price shown is already converted and already includes delivery.
Pyat Tsvetov has run its own flower shops in Saint Petersburg since 2011, and we regularly hear questions from people who want to send flowers abroad, to children, parents and friends who live in other countries. Below are the answers to the questions customers ask most often about Oshawa and Canada, plus some florist's advice on choosing and caring for the bouquet.
How the order works, step by step
The order for Oshawa is placed the same way as an order inside Russia. On the city page you see the bouquets available for that city, each with its final price in rubles. That price already includes delivery, so there is no separate fee to calculate and no extra line appearing at checkout. The 500 RUB delivery fee you may see elsewhere on our site applies to Russian cities, not to Canada.
After choosing the bouquet you enter the recipient's name, full address and phone number, then the text for the card. The card is free, and it is the only place your name appears: by default the courier does not name the sender. If you want the recipient to know who sent the flowers, sign the card clearly, for example with the name your family actually calls you.
Payment is online. We accept Russian bank cards, SBP and Yandex Pay, and foreign bank cards are accepted too, through Robokassa. That matters for many of our customers: a relative living in Canada can order for a family member in Oshawa using a Canadian card, or someone in Russia can pay with a Russian card. Our article on payment options when ordering flowers online explains each method in more detail.
Writing a Canadian address correctly
Most delivery problems abroad start with an incomplete address, so it is worth spending two minutes on it. A Canadian address is written as the unit or apartment number, then the street number and street name, then the city, the province and the postal code. For Oshawa the province is Ontario, abbreviated ON, and the postal code has six characters in the pattern letter-digit-letter, space, digit-letter-digit.
If the recipient lives in an apartment building, include the unit number and, if there is one, the buzzer code. In a house, the street number is enough, but a note such as "side entrance" or "basement apartment" helps a lot. Many homes in Oshawa have basement suites with their own door, and a courier who rings the main entrance may not reach the right person.
Write the phone number with the country code +1 and the ten-digit local number. Ask the recipient, or someone who knows their routine, whether they pick up calls from unknown numbers. If the address is a workplace, add the company name and the floor or department.

Which flowers Canadians appreciate
Customers often ask us whether Russian flower traditions apply in Canada. The rule about odd numbers of stems is a Russian custom; in Canada an even dozen roses is a perfectly normal romantic gift, and nobody counts stems. If the recipient is a Russian-speaking relative, however, they may still notice, so for small bouquets an odd number is the safer choice.
Chrysanthemums are a common cheerful gift flower in Canada, unlike in some European countries where they are linked to funerals. White lilies, on the other hand, are strongly associated with sympathy and funerals across North America, so avoid an all-white lily bouquet for a birthday. Lilies are also toxic to cats; if the recipient has a cat, choose roses, alstroemeria, gerberas or sunflowers instead.
For mothers and grandmothers, mixed bouquets in soft pinks and creams are almost always well received. For a man, a compact bouquet in deep colours or a single-variety bouquet looks more fitting than a lush pastel arrangement. For a colleague or a teacher, choose something medium-sized that fits on a desk and does not need a large vase.
Timing: time zones and Canadian dates
Oshawa is in the Eastern time zone, seven hours behind Moscow and Saint Petersburg in summer and eight hours behind in winter. When you choose the delivery date, think in Oshawa's local date, not yours. An order placed in the evening in Saint Petersburg is still the morning of the same day in Ontario, which is convenient for surprises but easy to miscalculate around midnight.
Some dates are busier than others. Valentine's Day, Mother's Day on the second Sunday of May, and Canadian Thanksgiving on the second Monday of October are the main flower occasions in Canada. For these dates, and for birthdays you know about well in advance, place the order a few days early rather than on the day itself.
If you are not sure which delivery dates or times are available for Oshawa, call us on 8 (812) 507-67-05 before ordering. It is easier to agree the details in advance than to change an order that has already been confirmed.
Helping the bouquet last in a Canadian home
Canadian homes are well heated in winter, and dry, warm air shortens the life of cut flowers. Suggest that the recipient keep the vase away from heating vents and radiators, out of direct sun and away from the fruit bowl, because ripening fruit releases ethylene, which makes petals drop faster.
The basic care is the same everywhere. Trim the stems by 2-3 cm at an angle with a sharp knife, remove leaves that would sit below the waterline, and use a clean vase with cool water. Change the water every one or two days and recut the stems each time. With this routine roses usually last about a week, and chrysanthemums and alstroemeria often stay fresh for ten days or more.
If roses arrive with slightly drooping heads after a cold day, recut the stems and stand them in deep cool water for a couple of hours. In most cases they straighten fully. Do not put flowers that have been out in frost straight next to a radiator; let them warm up gradually at room temperature.
Other Canadian cities, and sending flowers to Russia
Oshawa is one of 44 Canadian cities on our delivery list, which also includes nearby Ajax, as well as Aurora, Barrie, Belleville, Brantford, Burnaby, Abbotsford and others. If you have relatives in several places, check the Canada delivery page for the full list. The pages for delivery abroad are in Russian, but the order form is simple: bouquet, address, card text, payment.
If you live in Canada and want to send flowers the other way, to parents or friends in Russia, the process is the same. Inside Russia city delivery costs 500 RUB; for suburbs and remote districts the operator confirms the price when confirming the order. In large Russian cities we offer express delivery 1-2 hours after confirmation, delivery at an exact time within about 30 minutes, time windows from 09-12 to 18-21, or pre-orders 1-30 days ahead. In Saint Petersburg delivery runs around the clock.
Whichever direction you send flowers, the order is placed online and paid in rubles, and foreign cards are accepted. For any question about an order, call 8 (812) 507-67-05. We deliver bouquets across Russia in 1–2 hours.
